National Gathering of Elders

Tallcree Tribal Government proudly presents the National Gathering of Elders, we cordially invite you to join us as Sponsor Partner. This event will be held September 11th to the 14th, 2017, at the Edmonton Expo Centre in the Treaty Six Territory of Edmonton, Alberta.   The purpose of the Gathering is the need for Indigenous Elders (First Nation, Inuit and Metis) throughout the country to have inter-social and community links that bind them together as one people. The gathering is planned for elder participants to visit, exchange memories, share knowledge, to create new friendships and to renew old ones. The focus of the event is to network, share information, connect and introduce for best practices for community living and cultural exchange. The theme for the event encompasses four key areas impacting Indigenous people “Revitalization of Language and Culture, Reconciliation, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Climate Change”. The benefit of the National Gathering of Elders to the thousands of elders in attendance from across the country is better experienced than written. Visualize approximately 4,000 elders or more from all across Canada coming together to experience this great historic event where people can listen, assist, watch, and learn.
