WIPCE 2017

The World Indigenous Peoples Conference on Education (WIPCE) is an international gathering held every three years. WIPCE attracts highly regarded experts and scholars in Indigenous education engaging approximately 4000 Indigenous representatives from First Nations (Canada), Native Americans (USA), Aborigines (Australia), Maori (New Zealand), Ainu (Japan), Sami (Norway) and more. WIPCE is the largest and most diverse Indigenous education venue in the world. The conference continues to lead the discussion on contemporary movements in education that support Indigenous worldviews. Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) in partnership with Tap Resources will host the 11th World Indigenous Peoples Conference on Education (WIPCE 2017). WIPCE 2017 will take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from July 24 - July 29th, 2017 with a conference theme of "A Celebration of Resilience". WIPCE 2017 is an unprecedented opportunity for SNP and our conference sponsors to showcase successes in culturally inherent Indigenous education, reflect on the progress made following the 2015 Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action and engage in the continued generation of collaborative educational strategies.
