Transportation & Warehousing Indigenous Workforce Connex Event Thursday April 19, 2018, Kelowna BC.

Transportation & Warehousing Indigenous Workforce Connex Event Thursday April 19, 2018, Kelowna BC.

We need to get our people ready to be employed by industry. What are the opportunities? What are the challenges? Industry is looking for solutions. Indigenous people and organizations want to know what the solutions are - so we can activate them. This event is a must for the Warehousing and Transportation sectors. Representatives from Indigenous, business, education and other areas will gather in facilitated strategic discussions to learn more about the opportunities for Indigenous people to work in the sector and develop actionable plans which offer employment and new sources of talent for these growing sectors. We need you in the room! Register here. Government, advanced education & Indigenous organizations are evaluating the pros and cons of the current method of delivering employment services. This is your opportunity to directly and positively impact that evaluation and ensure your industry’s voice is heard. Using a panel presentation and the seven design principles of the World Café to lead discussions, the attendees will address the following questions:
  1. What are the opportunities for Indigenous employment in the fast-growing Warehousing and Transportation sector in BC and Canada?
  2. What are the challenges stopping Indigenous people from accessing these opportunities?
  3. What are the solutions to overcoming these challenges?
If you are involved with providing Indigenous labour market services, or if you are an employer in the Warehousing and Transportation sector, then Indigenous Works Linkages Project needs to hear from you! This event, though focused on these sectors, will interest any participant that is interested in Indigenous labour markets and how to improve their coordination and collaboration for better outcomes. The networking during our event will be invaluable to future partnerships in employment for Indigenous people. There is no cost to attend this Workforce Connex event, which will be informative, fast-paced and productive. Register for this event at Workforce Event Forum. Workforce Connex (April 19th) is a follow-up to the two-day Inclusion Works '18 event on April 17-18 in Kelowna. While Inclusion Works '18 offers a rich management learning session on Indigenous/non-Indigenous partnership development, Workforce Connex does a deep dive into employment/workforce partnerships, specifically in the BC transportation and warehousing sector. Don't miss the opportunity to register for both events. For more information about the Workforce Connex event or the Linkages Project, please visit the Indigenous Works website at indigenousworks.ca.
