Location: Anishinabek Nation Head Office, Nipissing First Nation, North Bay, ON
The Anishinabek Nation/Union of Ontario Indians secretariat is looking to hire an Administrative Assistant to support the implementation of the Comprehensive Governance Communications Strategy. The communications strategy will look to support the successful ratification of the Anishinabek Nation Governance Agreement, with the 40 member Anishinabek First Nations.
Under the direction of the Governance Citizen Engagement Manager, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing key administrative support for the regional communication activities to build eligible voter awareness and knowledge on the Anishinabek Nation Governance Agreement, Governance Fiscal Agreement and the Governance Implementation Plan.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to):
Administrative support the effective implementation of the Comprehensive Governance Communications Strategy.
Administrative support to the Citizen Engagement Manager in planning, coordinating and implementing the regional communication and engagement activities.
Administrative support to the Citizen Engagement Manger in overseeing and managing the four (4) Regional Communication Coordinators and the First Nation communication engagement leads.
Administrative support in the development of regional citizen engagement databases.
Administrative Support for Regional communication training.
Performing other duties as assigned.
General knowledge of the Anishinabek Nation/Union of Ontario Indians and its services, activities and membership
Must have excellent relationship management and communication skills
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
Minimum education required: College Diploma in Office Administration
Minimum experience required: two (2) years
Experience will be an asset in using technology and computer software applications:
Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, Mobile devices and applications
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Time management, organization and planning skills
Excellent customer service
Knowledge of First Nation and governmental processes
Working irregular hours required:
Able to work extended hours on occasions when required
Fluency in Anishinaabemowin a definite asset:
Salary: Commensurate with experience and education
