Join our dynamic team as an Asset Management Coordinator — an exciting and rewarding career opportunity with the BC Wildfire Service!

As stewards of British Columbia’s forest and range resources, the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations & Rural Development is responsible for ensuring that the use of forests to generate economic benefits is balanced with the long-term health and sustainability of the forest and range resources. To help ensure the forest will continue to contribute to a strong forest economy, the ministry prevents and suppresses wildfire to protect natural resource inventories and investments on both the Crown and private land base. Forest fire response is primarily focused on protecting lives and government forest assets, particularly timber. Without fire protection, some 500,000 hectares of productive forest would be lost annually, costing the province billions of dollars in potential direct revenue as well as structures and potentially, lives.

The BC Wildfire Service [BCWS] is a unique program of government tasked with the responsibility of preventing and managing unwanted wildfire on the landscape. Approximately 1600 field workers – comprising technical experts, strategic thinkers and fire operations staff – are dedicated to undertaking the BCWS mandate in delivering effective wildfire management and emergency response support to protect life and values at risk, encouraging sustainable, healthy and resilient ecosystems.  For more information, visit our site:  BC Wildfire Service
