FrontCounter BC & Authorizations Provincial Team provides a range of services to the public and to other government agencies involved in utilizing and managing Crown land and natural resources. FrontCounter BC assists clients by coordinating access to tenures, permits, licenses, Crown land sales, and grants for all the natural resource sector agencies. FrontCounter BC is a single window service for businesses and individual citizens seeking information and/or authorizations to utilize Crown natural resources. FrontCounter BC staff help navigate the application process from start to finish.

The Business Application Advisor is a multi-faceted role that provides a client focused analytical and technical support for the portfolio of systems managed by the FrontCounter BC & Authorizations Provincial Team with the goal of continuous improvement. This includes supporting the FrontCounter BC and authorizations staff and managers and key Natural Resource Ministry partners with delivering a wide range of initiatives including the analysis of new and existing business processes, defining business requirements, planning and conducting user acceptance testing, as well as the delivery of communication and training to staff. The successful candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills that prove invaluable as they meet with clients to understand program needs and priorities as well as manage system changes throughout the systems development life cycle (e.g. root cause analysis, requirements, development, acceptance testing, change management and implementation).

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • A diploma or higher in public or business administration or computer science or related field; OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with various stakeholders on business process change involving system development.
  • Experience with business applications including implementation planning, testing, and security.

Preference may be given to candidates who have experience with any of the following:

  • In HTML; CSS; JavaScript and web content management systems.
  • Data analysis and the producing of analytical reports
