The Management Services Division provides corporate support to the Economy Sector client group. This group is made up of the ministries of: Jobs, Trade and Technology; Municipal Affairs and Housing; Tourism, Arts and Culture; and Labour. Support services for Destination BC and the Auditor General for Local Government also fall under the Division’s responsibilities
This position works within the Information Management and Strategic Initiatives work unit, which is part of the Management Services Division and a shared resource for the Economy Sector
As Senior Analyst, FOIPP, you enjoy working as part of a team while also being proactive and self-motivated. You are skilled in co-ordinating and responding to sensitive and often complex FOIPP requests for multiple public bodies while providing advice and mentorship to team members related to specific policy issues. You communicate effectively with all levels of executive and ministry staff regarding current policy developments, providing ongoing quality assurance and conducting compliance reviews with tact and diplomacy. A careful researcher, you conduct policy analyses and research studies to prepare succinct, accurate reports and recommendations regarding program area options.
Your strong interpersonal skills are invaluable, as you implement important stakeholder consultations to identify issues and obtain feedback on proposed policies. You are a capable project manager, able to successfully lead project teams when needed and have experience developing and delivering training as needed. In addition, you have a thorough understanding of the FOIPP Act, the Information Management Act and you work well as part of a team where you apply exceptional tact and judgement and show good communication skills. In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Degree in Information Management, Public Administration or other directly-related discipline and 2 years’ experience performing analytical work or; Diploma in Information Management, Public Administration or other directly-related discipline and 3 years’ experience performing analytical work or; an equivalent combination of education/training and experience. Related experience includes:
- Experience interpreting and applying legislation and policy.
- Experience in negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution.
- Experience working on complex, multi-party FOI requests.
