The Agrifoods Business Management team of the Sector Development Branch is comprised of agrologists, business management experts and supporting project and evaluation staff that focus on the economic development of the agrifood sector, including support for the growth and development of youth, new entrants and First Nations agriculture. The team provides enhanced business management information, advisory and referral services, education programming and evaluation to strengthen business management knowledge, skills and capacity within the agrifood sector.

The Program Analyst role leads program development and cross-branch projects, analyzes and evaluates program performance, manage contracts, assists management in outreach, consultation and the development of partnerships, and prepare reports and briefing materials. The role is critical to providing strategic analysis, research and recommendations for the development and improvement of business development programs and service delivery in the Sector Development Branch.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree in a related discipline (business administration, public administration, economics, agriculture or similar field) and one year of related work experience*;OR
  • Diploma in a related discipline (business administration, public administration, economics, agriculture or similar field) and three years of related work experience*.
  • *Related work experience must include at least two of the following:
    • Experience independently leading or managing major projects or project components
    • Experience conducting research and analysis, including reviewing current issues, initiatives and trends, evaluating programs and information, designing surveys, and/or providing advice to management/executives
    • Experience preparing a variety of written materials, including briefing notes, presentations, discussion and position papers, and/or summary reports
  • Preference may be given to applicants with experience managing projects in the agriculture/agri-foods industry
