Job Summary:

Program Coordinator
Administrative Officer R24

The Resource Planning and Assessment Branch provides leadership, policy direction, implementation guidance and coordination for land use planning, cumulative effects assessments, integrated monitoring and the Land Based Investment Program.

As Program Coordinator you have a key role in tracking and reporting on performance of our Land Use Planning program as well as leading project planning sessions with senior managers, subject matters experts and stakeholders. Your responsibilities as a Program Coordinator involve tracking funding needs, developing budget management mechanisms, reporting on internal and contracted resources, and the status of land use planning projects across the province.  In this diverse role you will also be leading the procurement of Ministry contracts and supporting the development of modernized land use planning policy and guidance.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree or higher in a field related to the natural resource sector (e.g., forestry, resource management, agrology, and environmental science), land use planning, commerce, public administration, human resource management or a related equivalent.
  • Experience managing and coordinating projects and working with project teams.
  • Experience in business planning and performance management.

    Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:

  • Experience facilitating groups whose members hold varying interests.
  • Experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.
  • Experience identifying trends and resolving related issues, developing workable alternatives, and creating project plans.
