The Audit and Investigations Branch (AIB), part of the Financial and Corporate Services Division, is responsible for the Billing Integrity Program and the Investigations Unit. The Audit Manager is responsible for financial, procedural and compliance audits of billings to the Medical Services Plan (MSP) by medical practitioners, health care practitioners, medical facilities owners/administrators and other claimants. This includes detection and deterrence of inappropriate MSP billings; auditing adherence of the medical community to the Medical Services Commission (MSC) and Ministry fee-for-service policies, procedures, statues protocols, and schedules; and effective management of $2.2 billion in fee-for-service payments to over 13,000 claimants. The Audit Manager supervises and manages ten to twelve professional Senior Auditors and one Administrative Assistant and provide expertise and guidance on audit principles and practices.
As the Audit Manager, you have considerable knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, standards and processes including information technology and management auditing. You have excellent analytical research skills to gather and interpret information, apply legislation, and establish evidence to support audit assessments. You are highly advanced in professional communication and have the negotiation skills necessary to finalize proposed assessments and resolve contentious issues.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CPACGA, CPACA, CPACMA).
- Three or more years of auditing experience including considerable financial, procedural and compliance auditing experience.
- 2 years or more supervisory experience.
- Experience working effectively with external stakeholders.
- Preference may be given to applicants with health sector experience.
