The Government Agent is accountable for the overall administration and supervision of their office(s), which provides services to the public in support of partners, agencies and other offices of government.  The Government Agent acts as a representative of the government to collect revenue; provide information and deliver cost-effective government services to citizens in an efficient and service-oriented manner.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • A Post-secondary degree or higher in Business Administration, Public Sector Management/Administration and the following related experience:
    • 4 years or more recent (within the last 5 years) experience developing and leading staff to provide exceptional in-person customer service in a dynamic, constantly changing diverse environment where team work and strong leadership is critical to success;
    • 2 years or more recent (within the last 5 years) experience in managing issues, solving problems, and delivering in- person services to customers / clients in a fast paced, high volume setting, preferably in a public sector or regulated environment;
    • 2 years or more program management experience which includes budgeting, resource allocation, customer relationship management; and full range of human resource functions in a union environment.
    • 1 year or more broad financial control experience. Areas of experience should include: revenue collection, cash management, monetary or inventory reconciliation, office security, inventory stock control, asset protection, contract management, account delinquency collection, credit management and financial reporting.
    • Experience in a revenue collection environment preferred. OR;
  • 2 year college or technical school diploma or higher in Business/Public Administration and the following related experience:
    • 5 years or more recent (within the last 5 years) experience developing and leading staff to provide exceptional in-person customer service in a dynamic, constantly changing diverse environment where team work and strong leadership is critical to success;
    • 3 years or more recent (within the last 5 years) experience in managing issues, solving problems, and delivering in- person services to customers / clients in a fast paced, high volume setting, preferably in a public sector or regulated environment;
    • 3 years or more program management experience which includes budgeting, resource allocation, full range of human resource functions in a union environment and customer relationship management;
    • 2 years or more broad financial control experience. Areas of experience should include: cash management, reconciliation, office security, inventory stock control, asset protection, contract management, account delinquency collection, credit management and financial reporting.
    • Experience in a revenue collection environment preferred. OR;
  • Completion of Grade 12 and the following related experience:
    • 5 years or more recent (within the last 5 years) experience developing and leading staff to provide exceptional in-person customer service in a dynamic, constantly changing diverse environment where team work and strong leadership is critical to success;
    • 4 years or more recent (within the last 5 years) experience in managing issues, solving problems, and delivering in- person services to customers / clients in a fast paced, high volume setting, preferably in a public sector or regulated environment;
    • 4 years or more program management experience which includes budgeting, resource allocation, full range of human resource functions in a union environment and customer relationship management;
    • 3 years or more broad financial control experience. Areas of experience should include: cash management, reconciliation, office security, inventory stock control, asset protection, contract management, account delinquency collection, credit management and financial reporting.
    • Experience in a revenue collection environment preferred.
