The Legal Services Branch (LSB) is the official legal advisor to the government of British Columbia and is charged with ensuring the administration of public affairs is carried out in accordance with the law. LSB assists in fulfilling the Attorney General’s role as set out under the Attorney General Act.

This position provides procurement and contract management advice and information to LSB Executive, Legal Counsel, Executive Directors, Directors and other members of LSB.  As LSB is a shared service provider for government, this position may also be required to provide reports, analysis and other information to the clients of LSB as well as other departments including the Ministry’s Corporate Management Services Division, Office of the Comptroller General, Office of the Auditor General, Risk Management Branch and other government departments.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree in business administration, commerce, public administration, finance, law  or equivalent.
  • Experience in the full procurement life cycle and analyzing complex issues, evaluating options and recommending solutions.
  • Experience advising a diverse client caseload on contract management and procurement in a risk-based environment.
  • Experience negotiating/mediating solutions in a public-sector environment.
  • Two (2) years of experience leading staff and managing resources.
