AMENDMENT: This position can be performed virtually from any Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction office in the province. (dependent on operational requirements, space, and availability).

The Strategic Services Branch supports the Division’s strategic planning process, legislation, policy, service delivery, and system implementations, stakeholder relations and, optimization and modernization of services.

The Manager, Strategic Planning leads the strategic and business planning process for the Division, represents the Division on ministry planning initiatives and, monitors deliverables aligned with business plan objectives.

Highly organized, you capably prioritize and manage your workload to meet deadlines, using your outstanding eye for detail to ensure all work is carried out to a high standard. You are an effective communicator, able to successfully establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders and demonstrate initiative and good judgment in applying procedures within established policies and guidelines.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

Degree in business administration or public administration AND three (3) years’ progressive* experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

*Progressive experience must include:

  • Business planning and performance measurement.
  • Implementation of performance metrics.
  • Stakeholder relations and project management.

Preference may be given for:

  • Experience leading and supervising direct reports, assigning work to others, evaluating performance, and managing and approving leave.
  • Experience researching other jurisdictions and collaborating with stakeholders to support innovation and continuous improvement.
