The Strategic Human Resources Branch partners with Ministry leaders to create a vibrant workplace; a culture that is inclusive, innovative, transparent, and collaborative; and employees who are highly engaged. SHRB provides organization development services and programs and strategic consultation to our clients, aligning SHR/OD strategies to the ministry business priorities and goals. The Branch leads several programs and initiatives for the Ministry including: workforce planning; Work Environment Survey (WES); succession management; the FINLearn Strategy; orientation; recognition; wellness; and strategic recruitment.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Human Resources, the Strategic Human Resources (SHR) Planner is responsible for the design, development, related budget coordination and implementation of ministry-specific engagement programs that are aligned with the Ministry’s Workforce Plan and FINLearn Strategy such as learning and development, orientation, wellness, and recognition. The position is also responsible for providing ongoing program and process improvement, research, analysis, evaluation, and advice on programs and initiatives as input to the ministry’s Workforce Plan and FINLearn strategy. The role is responsible for providing presentations and facilitating workshops and focus groups on ministry programs and initiatives, as well as liaising with appropriate staff on the effective distribution of SHR-related communications including the intranet site, newsletters and emails.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- A post-secondary degree in a related field (such as public administration, business administration, education, social sciences), or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years’ recent progressive experience in human resources. Preference may be given to those with experience in strategic human resources or organization development.
- Experience in project management implementing human resource related programs, including experience developing, monitoring and reconciling budgets.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Preference may be given to given to the following:
- Experience designing and implementing cultural safety programs.
- Experience using PeopleSoft/CHIPS database
