The Post-Secondary Policy and Programs and Division Responsible for Learner Supports enables an innovative, high-quality, accessible post-secondary education system by supporting institutions – as partners – to provide students with the best post-secondary education experience possible and assisting British Columbians who seek access to this system with flexible and appropriate financial tools and supports.
The Post-Secondary Programs Branch develops and implements initiatives to increase student opportunities in priority program areas within B.C.’s post-secondary system. The Director role, within the Adult Education unit of the branch, will be focused on policy analysis and advice related to the unit’s diverse program areas and initiatives. Examples include tuition-free Adult Basic Education and English Language Learning, Adult Upgrading grants, Community Adult Literacy Program, and Adult Special Education. The Director will lead strategic and collaborative partnerships with post-secondary institutions and across government to achieve desired objectives.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Degree in a related field such as Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Sciences or Education. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Senior level experience in two or more of the following: social policy, program development and implementation, project management, strategic planning and/or issues management.
- A minimum of five years’ experience managing competing interests or a portfolio of clients in a multi-stakeholder environment with diverse needs, interests and mandates.
- A minimum one year experience leading, coaching and supervising staff and/or large, long-term project teams.
- Preference may be given to candidates with experience in trends, innovations and developments within post-secondary education.
Occasional travel may be required.
