The Director of Capital Finance is responsible for the overall financial management and reporting of the Ministry’s capital budget, amounting to over $700 million annually in the upcoming fiscal years. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Capital Management and indirectly to the Ministry CFO, the position is responsible for developing and maintaining specific processes for forecasting, tracking and reporting on the capital budget on behalf of the Capital Management Branch (CMB). As the primary financial advisor for the Ministry’s capital budget, the Director provides financial management leadership for the Ministry’s core capital programs and related work units, including budget development and cash flow management; financial analysis, monitoring and reporting; and direct advisory services for large, complex and sensitive projects.
The Director of Capital Finance is also responsible for several corporate service functions for the Capital Management Branch, including the Branch operating budget, correspondence, capital information for the Ministry Service Plan and Annual Report, Freedom of Information Requests, as well as administration and coordination for major capital project boards.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Accounting designation and a minimum of five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training may be considered.
- 3 or more years of progressive management experience including the following: budgeting and forecasting, financial management, contracting, and financial and procurement policy.
- 5 or more years of experience with strategic corporate planning, staffing, and building and maintaining strong working relationships.
- Experience in managing complex projects, business and performance planning, and goal setting.
- Experience working with senior executive/management on complex issues.
- Experience liaising with internal stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Preference may be given to candidates with experience in capital finance.
