Services to Adults with Developmental Disabilities (STADD) was established in January 2012 to respond to recommendations made by the Deputy Ministers’ review of Community Living British Columbia. The Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction has responsibility for STADD in conjunction with an Inter-Ministerial Steering Committee comprised of senior representatives of the ministries and organizations whose services significantly impact the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.
The overarching mandate is the development of an integrated service delivery model that reflects a one-government approach to better support individuals with developmental disabilities throughout the lifespan and across service systems, particularly through periods of transition, such as youth to adulthood. There are 140 communities where STADD operates across the province.
Reporting to the STADD Executive Director, the Director oversees operational leadership of STADD staff, sites and region as required, as well as strategic corporate leadership in support of the integrated service delivery model to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families during the critical transition period from youth to adult services. This role has responsibility for providing leadership and planning around performance monitoring and evaluation for STADD.
