The Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure plans for improvements to the transportation network, provides transportation services, develops and implements transportation policies, and administers many transportation-related acts and regulations. Highway Operations is the Ministry’s front line. Regional and district staff provide customer service by working directly with the public, local governments, First Nations and ministry contractors.

The Regional Manager, Corporate and Operational Services, manages a variety of financial and administrative services, as well as highway operations, maintenance and rehabilitation of the Provincial Transportation System within the Northern Region. The position plans, develops, implements and manages short and long term plans, contracts, programs and services with considerable impact to meet regional and Ministry objectives.

Prince George is the largest city in Northern British Columbia, and boasts a wide variety of restaurants and entertainment, including the Prince George Symphony Orchestra. Prince George is also located next to several provincial parks, which provide camping and boating amenities.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • A professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA or CPA); OR
  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA); OR
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered such as:
    • A degree in an appropriate financial or technical discipline such as: Business Administration, Public Administration or Commerce (in either an operations management, finance, or accounting stream) supplemented by advanced training in the management of financial, administrative and operational programs/professional staff; OR
    • Other combinations may also be considered
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in progressively more responsible management positions directing programs such as finance, information systems, administration, contracting, program development, long term planning and operations
  • A Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence is required
