The Information Management Branch (IMB), part of the Ministry of Citizens’ Services, is an enterprise organization for the B.C. government which leads the strategy, service operations, policy and standards for ministry application, server infrastructure, information technology, IT security, privacy and the management of the IM/IT investment portfolio for the Province.
The IMB is executing on a multi-year strategic plan that will drive value for the branch and ministry by creating a more collaborative, positive work experience for our staff and our stakeholders. The branch works collaboratively across all divisions and with its partners, to enhance the ministry’s overall strategic IM/IT planning, and works directly with the Corporate Services Division (CSD) executive to align decisions to strategic direction.
Reporting to the Ministry Chief Information Officer (MCIO), the Director, Information Security & Compliance is responsible for leading the design and development, and for overseeing the delivery, of the ministry-wide information security framework, program and services, as well as for ensuring the Ministry’s compliance with security standards and policies.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
University degree or post-secondary diploma in Computer Sciences, Information Systems or a related discipline and minimum three years of progressive experience;OR
An equivalent combination of education, training (e.g. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager in good standing) and minimum five years of progressive experience.
Progressive experience includes:
Experience working with senior government officials, senior level professionals and a wide range of stakeholders.
Experience preparing strategies, action plans and special projects related to sensitive and diverse issues.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role and leading professional staff and project teams.
Experience developing and implementing IM/IT policy and standards, programs and projects related to security for a large, bureaucratic, and/or decentralized organization. This could include public sector entities, multi-provincial or multi-national corporations, etc.
Experience conducting security audits, investigations, and/or other risk management assessments as they relate to software applications and the protection of information systems and data.
Experience managing confidential issues with tact and diplomacy.
Experience negotiating and managing information technology contracts.
