Director of Operations – Early Years and Other Program Areas
Management Band 4

As part of implementation of the Early Years Service Framework (www.gov.bc.ca/earlyyears), the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCF) will increase capacity within its Service Delivery Areas through the creation of 13 new Director of Operations positions. Each of these Directors of Operators are tasked with managing and planning for early years and relevant foundational services across communities within an SDA in alignment with the Early Years Services Framework and MCF’s strategic focus on prevention/early intervention (e.g., supporting family preservation and early childhood development.)

In addition to managing Early Years Services this position manages the daily delivery of integrated services which may include family support, child and youth mental health, youth justice, child protection, children and youth with special needs and services to children in care within a community.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or Child and Youth Care, or Masters in Clinical Psychology, Educational Counselling Psychology, or Social Work, or equivalent.
    NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES).
  • Experience in a supervisory/management position. Preference may be given to applicants with 2 years or more in this area.
  • Experience in program and service delivery development, planning and evaluation.
  • Preference may be given to First Nations, Metis or Inuit applicants with the required combination of education and experience.
