Play a critical leadership role in IM/IT service delivery in the Economy Sector
The Economy Sector is a key driver of economic activity and employment in the province.
Management Services Division facilitates the delivery of programs and services on behalf of 4 partner ministries and multiple Crown Corporations, agencies and tribunals. As a central service provider, the Information Systems Branch helps clients identify and implement effective information technology solutions and provides strategic guidance on information systems planning and development. The Branch also serves as the primary interface between client areas and vendors, helping to develop successful projects, mitigate risk and resolve issues.
The Information Systems Branch in currently in the process of optimizing its Information Management / Information Technology (IM/IT) service delivery capability. This process has been launched in response to client feedback as well as a changing program area and technology landscape. We’re looking for a seasoned IM/IT professional committed to innovation, continuous improvement, teamwork and collaboration.
The Executive Director and Ministry Chief Information Officer is a member of the Management Services Division Executive Team and is accountable for designing, implementing and ensuring compliance with the Sector’s IM/IT standards in collaboration with ISB staff and management. As the Branch continues to transform its services new practices, curriculum and performance measurement frameworks need to be established and adopted across the branch to ensure the team’s success. The Ministry Chief Information Officer is central to this ongoing effort.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Completion of a degree, diploma, certification or equivalent in the computer science and/or information technology field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Preference may be given for a degree in the computer science and/or information technology field
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience leading, developing and implementing information management and information technology policies, programs and projects in a complex systems environment including data security and data management.
- Experience with strategic planning and business transformation in a technology-dependent business area or information systems branch.
- Experience negotiating and managing information technology contracts.
- Experience managing professional staff, project teams and divisional budgets.
