The role of Payroll Specialist requires a fluently bilingual (French/English) individual to manage all aspects related to bi-weekly payroll within five provinces for Express Scripts Canada.
Manage all aspects related to the bi-weekly payroll for the organization for salaried and hourly employees: 7 payrolls in 5 provinces. This includes accurate processing of all payroll transactions; bi-weekly reconciliation of government remittances, issuing annual T4’s, Record of Employments, monthly and year-end tax returns for government agencies e.g. CSST, EHT; manual payments, garnishees, charitable donations
Responsible for the administration of the group benefits plan.
Manage the Paid Time Off balances and year end reconciliation
Manage all aspects related to our payroll system through ADP to ensure accurate payroll processing and organizational compliance
Manage stock option program from a payroll and taxable benefit perspective for Canada: manual calculations of legislative deduction for applying all taxable benefits and ensures appropriate year end reporting on T4’s
Manage defined contribution pension plan and optional group RRSP program as well as all related regulatory filings.
Manages all aspects of the STD and LTD program and communication with insurance carrier
Manage the United Way payroll actions
Produce ad hoc reports required by the business
Certified Payroll Practitioner or Manager Certification or similar experience would be considered an asset.
Minimum of 5 years payroll and benefits experience
Excellent verbal and written communication: English and French is required
Must be able to work within tight deadlines
Highly organized, able to prioritize and be detail oriented.
Strong computer skills; experience with ADP Workforce Now is a definite asset.
Demonstrated strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
