An eligibility list may be established.The Office of the Lieutenant Governor and Government House itself is multi-dimensional, supporting several distinct lines of business including constitutional and international protocol matters, ceremonial and hospitality events, and the management, and maintenance of Government House as a National Historic Site. The role of staff is to provide direct support to the Lieutenant Governor and to the senior management of Government House; to maintain the Government House structures and grounds; and to carry out all obligations, events and other activities in the highest standards of professionalism, observance of protocols, and expectations of the people of British Columbia.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.  Preference may be given to applicants with some post-secondary education such as a certificate or higher in the hospitality industry.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in the food and beverage industry in an up-scale hotel or resort.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience responding to requests and enquiries from the public.

Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:

  • Experience in housekeeping and building maintenance
  • FoodSafe, Serving it Right, WHMIS or WorldHost/SuperHost training

    A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
