Identifies target clients (and decision makers within the client group) and develops a client engagement strategy and work plan, to be updated annually.
For approval by the Board and Director of Market Development, Financial Administration Laws and Stakeholder Relations develops and implements a marketing and outreach strategy designed to generate interest and promote the FMA and FMB certification processes to target clients – works with team to develop approaches that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns and objectives.
Develops and implements customized strategic engagement approaches for targeted First Nation clients.
Develops a rapport with potential and current clients and provides support that will continually improve the relationship – meet with client pool by continuously growing, maintaining and leveraging networks
Conducts scans of the economic landscape in each region, identifies potential market opportunities and First Nations that might be able to capitalize on opportunities.
Stakeholder Relations & Engagement
For approval by the Director of Market Development, Financial Administration Laws and Stakeholder Relations, develops an FMB stakeholder relationships strategy to ensure that FMB engages with key individuals and groups, and keeps a ‘finger on the pulse’.
Develops strategic relationships with stakeholders and agencies whose mandate and work will help advance FMB’s objectives.
Manages initiatives to develop new FMB client groups, services and business lines.
Supports and helps facilitate integrated thought leadership efforts, ideas and initiatives to identify new opportunities for FMB services.
Attends industry functions to identify relevant opportunities, trends, campaigns etc. to further ‘brand value’.
Initiates and coordinates dialogue with financial service providers, industry leaders and federal/provincial government officials as directed.
Under the advisement of the Director, Market Development, Financial Administration Laws and Stakeholder Relations and Intervention, proactively identifies and maintains relationships with financial and professional service providers that service the First Nations.
Coordinates with FNFA, FNTC on FMA brand marketing to ensure a consistent message.
Communications – Outreach
Develops and delivers presentations and coordinates FMB presence at national and regional conferences.
Develops and delivers presentations to First Nations when requested.
As part of the corporate communications strategy, develop and maintain FMB
A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
2-5 years experience in a business development related role, ideally working with First Nations
Previous experience working with First Nations is required – please ensure this requirement is clearly identified in your resume or cover letter
Demonstrated ability to build relationships
Highly effective teamwork skills
Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Suite
Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects
