YFN Management Services has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with strong business acumen and political sensitivity to lead our Economic Development Corporation in Ucluelet, British Columbia.

In this role, you will lead a team of 12 reports, and ensure that the Board’s vision, mission, mandate, and goals are achieved. Accountable for the overall health and performance of the organization, you will maintain a strong strategic and operational focus. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will review and improve the business model, as needed, to ensure maximum operational productivity and efficiency.

This is a dynamic and high visible role that will also see you play a pivotal role in stakeholder relations. You will focus on building strong and long-term relationships with key business partners who are aligned with our goals and who enhance the reputation of our organization.

Capable of providing financial leadership, you will also manage budgets, operational plans and monitor the strategic fiscal goals, and will carry out your responsibilities under the direction and policies established by the Board and guided by the YFN Government’s laws, acts and regulations.

The Ideal Candidate 

For this role, we are seeking an accomplished and visionary leader with demonstrated success at the CEO-level. 

With a post-secondary education in a relevant field (MBA preferred), you will also possess working knowledge of tourism and hospitality, resource harvesting and finance.Previous experience working with a First Nations government, community or organization is highly advantageous, as is working knowledge of Aboriginal enterprises and modern treaties.

Most importantly, you must be an excellent communicator and have demonstrated experience providing guidance in the development and implementation of long-term tactical and strategic plans in accordance with business goals and objectives. Comfortable with change and ambiguity, you can adapt quickly and positively to shifting priorities while still maintaining your steadfast drive and focus.
