Indspire is a registered national charity which in 2015-16 raised $12.2-million to distribute to assist First Nation, Inuit and Metis students complete their post-secondary education and training. In this newly created leadership role at Indspire, you will be a strategic partner to a dedicated, respected and experienced CEO, Roberta Jamieson, well-known in corporate and government sectors, at a time when Indspire is redoubling its commitment to a level playing field within education. As Chief Operating Officer, your mandate and priority will be to work closely with the CEO in developing and delivering on operational plans, while the CEO focuses on fund raising, governance and on cultivating partners across Canada. You will ensure that the organization has in place the people, the systems, business practices and accountability needed to maintain and increase Indspire’s relevance and scope, including accommodating significant growth. You will build on extraordinary results that include a 93% graduation rate among Indspire’s fund recipients and an 82% employment rate among graduates. As COO, you will work with the CEO, the Board and staff to shape, communicate and implement Indspire’s vision, values and strategy – integrating and promoting Indigenous cultural competencies across all programs.
As a change leader, you are comfortable with ambiguity and are energized by complex challenges. You have built impressive credentials in planning, team building, budgeting, and marketing and performance management. You have been a passionate champion in developing your organization’s culture, relevance and effectiveness. Familiar with Indigenous communities and issues, you will bring both new expertise and energy to a successful organization which wants to increase its effectiveness and scope in ensuring that all Indigenous students can realize their full potential through quality education.
