We currently have an opportunity to join the Laurier community as a Child and Youth Supervisor (Laurier Brantford YMCA).
The Child and Youth Supervisor participates as a member of the Health, Fitness & Aquatics team and provides leadership to the programs for all members under sixteen years of age ensuring program excellence. This position reports to the Program Manager and is responsible for program planning and implementation, customer service, staff and volunteer recruitment, training, and performance management.
Please note that this position requires the successful incumbent to be flexible and available to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, school breaks and holidays dependent on program needs.

Provides supervision and training to the child and youth staff and volunteer team
Direct delivery of some children and youth programs.
Provide direct leadership to Youth Leader Corps, being a mentor and role model for our young YMCA leaders.
Participate in the planning and delivery of the Spring Leader Corps Conference at YMCA Camp Wanakita
Be a contributing member of the Branch Leadership Team including scheduled Team Leader shifts
Monitor child and youth area to ensure financial targets are met.
Develop, implement and assess the quality of all instructional, recreational and open programs for participants
Build and maintain strong relationships with parents and families, delivering excellence in customer service to all members, especially this group.
Prepares departmental payroll and staff schedules
Diploma in Leisure & Recreation or related field
Previous experience supervising staff, including recruitment, training and conducting performance appraisals
Experience in a recreation environment working with and programming for children, youth and teens
Previous YMCA experience is an asset, as is knowledge of YMCA Priority S.A.M standards
Computer skills using Microsoft Windows applications and CLASS
Certified Standard First Aid and CPRC
Current Police Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
