Do you want to make a real difference?

Stoney Nakoda Child and Family Services is currently seeking Child Protection Caseworkers to join our team in Morley, Alberta on a full-time basis.

You will excel in this role if you have experience creating meaningful, working relationships with children, youth, and families. You will possess cultural competency and sensitivity in your social work practice and must be well versed in the Signs of Safety approach.

Reporting to the Team Leader and working collaboratively with the investigative/assessment team, Foster/Kinship Care Unit and other community agencies, you will ensure optimal case planning and ongoing consultations. Specifically, you will be responsible for ongoing assessment recording, case management and the management of services and interventions to meet the child’s needs within specified timeframes. You will engage families and help them to understand their situation, as well as work with them to address the issues causing the child to need protective services.

You will be a great fit for the team if you adopt an anti-oppressive and non-authoritarian approach with families. Focusing on building relationships, engagement and collaboration, you will deliver service in accordance with the Child Youth & Family Enhancement Act.

For this role, we are seeking candidates who have a post-secondary degree in Social Work (MSW or BSW) with previous experience working in the child protection field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered. Knowledge of the Child, Youth, & Family Enhancement Act, other related legislation, and delegation training is also considered an asset.
