Position Summary

This position supports home health, acute care and residential care. The position can be based anywhere in the Thompson Cariboo Rural region. Travel within the IH West region is required.

As the Clinical Practice Consultant you will champion, guide and lead the delivery of a comprehensive Wound, Ostomy & Continence program for clients. You will be responsible for promoting the delivery of quality client care by providing clinical consultation and expertise, education and direction based on a specialized body of knowledge to interdisciplinary team members.

This role will collaborate with other Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC); research and evaluate current wound, ostomy & continence standards and facilitate the development and implementation of program policies and procedures, education programs for staff and quality improvement initiatives, incorporating evidence based ‘best practices’.

This is a relief part time 0.50 position until March 31, 2020 or return of incumbent. This rotation works Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday on the one week, and then the following week works Tuesday and Wednesday. This pattern repeats.

Qualifications
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).

Successful completion of the Wound, Ostomy & Continence Institute’s Wound, Ostomy & Continence Education Program, three years recent, relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Valid motor vehicle license.
