Administrative Assistant
Clerk R9

2 Part-time positions available (.50 FTE, 35 hours bi-weekly)

Positions available in Burnaby and Vancouver and may be combined as one position (1 FTE 70 hours bi-weekly)

The Community Corrections and Corporate Programs Division of the Corrections Branch is responsible for the delivery of programs and services to adult offenders or alleged offenders awaiting trial or sentencing, who are serving community based sentences of the court. The intent of these programs and services is to enhance public safety by assessing and managing the risk of the offenders and providing intervention to change behaviour. The Community Corrections Division works closely with the court system and the Adult Custody Division of the Corrections Branch, and responds to court and custody requests for pres-sentence and other reports. Community Corrections Offices are the primary location for client supervision and liaison with community and justice partners as well as the general public.

Under the direct supervision of the Office Manager, Administrative Assistant provides confidential office support services, frontline reception services, data entry for electronic systems, and maintains files and records, and provides financial support services.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Secondary school graduation
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience (e.g. Clerical, secretarial, receptionist, or administrative support), OR; an equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training may be considered.
  • Preference maybe given to applicants with 2 or more years’ related experience.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with an Office Administrative Certificate or equivalent.
  • Keyboarding speed 50 wpm
  • Preference may be given to those candidates with experience working in settings dealing with mental health and/or substance abuse clients.
