The Financial Management Services Department provides financial and administrative services to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, the BC Transportation Financing Authority [BCTFA] and the BC Railway Company. The branches within the department are Financial Management; Information Systems; Strategic Human Resources and Crown Agencies.

The branch provides expertise in financial planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting, financial policy and procedures development, financial systems support, financing and debt management services, revenue, accounts payable and receivables management. The department also provides the Ministry with facilities management, and financial oversight of several crown corporations.

As the Financial Clerk, you will provide financial support services for the Ministry including, but not limited to, processing and ensuring the quality, accuracy and consistency of data contained in the Ministry’s financial systems, and identifying and correcting data discrepancies. JOB REQUIREMENTS:

To be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum two years’ experience in relevant administrative and/or financial environment
  • Experience with computerized financial systems; preference may be given to applicants with CAS ORACLE experience
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong experience working as a member of a team
