Real Property Division (RPD) is within the Ministry of Citizens’ Services. RPD is the shared services provider for the Government of British Columbia, within which RPD provides accommodation and real estate services to government ministries and broader public sector (BPS) customers and clients. This includes the following responsibilities:
- to provide cost-effective real estate and accommodation services to the public sector (a shared service provider function);
- to serve our clients by working with them to develop an understanding of their needs and determine what are their best value accommodation solutions; and,
- to provide responsible stewardship of the portfolio of owned and leased properties entrusted to its management.
RPD manages, on behalf of the Province, a diverse real estate portfolio of leased and owned properties that extend throughout the province. The portfolio included almost 14 million square feet of space. It includes a wide variety of types of properties/facilities, ranging from the Vancouver Law Courts and Robson Square Complex to heritage buildings dating from the 1860s, and includes: office buildings, residential institutions, courthouses, correctional centers and other types of special purpose facilities (e.g. forestry complexes, ambulance stations, health units, highways facilities).
RPD recovers the costs of its operations through building occupancy charges and service charges totaling approximately $360M per year. Approximately 80% of RPD recoveries come from space and services provided to mandated customers (ministries and government agencies required to use RPD services). The remaining 20% of recoveries come from services provided to BPS customers (including health authorities, schools/universities and colleges and Crown corporations), who choose to do business with RPD, as set out in specific agreements or memoranda of understanding.
The purpose of this position is to manage the provision of client parking for an assigned geographical area, ensuring an accurate inventory and client charges/credits for leased and owned property. Parking coordinators link customer demand with market supply by acting as an information broker, acquiring parking stalls, negotiating leases with third party vendors and managing vacancies.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Secondary school graduation (or equivalent) and a minimum of four years of relevant* administrative education/ training/experience. *Relevant experience can include working for a parking service provider or working with lease contracts.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in contract administration specifically related to parking or leasing contracts; including: determining contract terms and conditions, interpreting and explaining clauses to clients and staff, conducting research for new contracts and renewals. Preference may be given to applicants with 4 or more years of lease contract experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience using and maintaining databases and filing systems (data entry and integrity, query, run reports, access information, etc.).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a high volume work environment with legally defined deadlines (lease contract term dates), requiring a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience providing customer service to a portfolio of customers.
- Experience in accounting or financial administration including researching and analyzing financial information, conducting calculations for budget estimates or projections, reconciling accounts and overall budget/financial management and reporting.
- Experience in conducting basic research and report writing.
- Preference may be given to applicants with experience and proficiency in using the @Real system and its customer, contract and or inventory related functionality.
