The Ministry of Environment’s Conservation Officer Service core business areas are to enforce natural resource laws and respond to wildlife conflicts, to protect human health and safety, the environment, personal and public property, and general revenue. Program responsibilities including providing compliance and enforcement services for various programs in the Ministry and other Ministries to ensure sustainable use of B.C’s natural resources. Ministry of Environment Program Administrative Support Services is both a regionally and zone-controlled administration service unit, reporting through to the Deputy Minister’s office. The Program Administrative Support Services are located in each major regional and zone business area that provide program support in the areas of administration, finance and human resource duties to program clients. Both the regional and zone areas are supervised by the regional Inspector of the Conservation Officer Service.
The purpose of this position is to provide compliance and enforcement administrative and clerical support services to managers, sergeants and field conservation officers. Working under time and work volume pressures, the Program Admin Support readjusts priorities to maintain the flow of information while ensuring deadlines are met. The incumbent is frequently required to enter information into computer databases, prepare correspondence, reports and other material containing highly sensitive and confidential information and responds on own initiative to general routine matters. Adhere to electronic case management business rules.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
- A combination of 3 years of secretarial / stenographic / administrative support experience, education and/or training.
- Experience / training in word processing, spreadsheet, database and other standard computer applications including the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Experience working with ARCS/ORCS is preferred.
- Experience working in a high-volume work environment with changing priorities is preferred.
- Experience working with the public providing information on a variety of programs is preferred.
- Experience transcribing audio dictation is preferred.
