Communications and External Relations Coordinator (Bilingual)

The Human Rights Legal Support Centre (HRLSC) is seeking applications for an upcoming opening for a Bilingual Communications and External Relations Coordinator. The successful candidate for this exciting opportunity will have:

Professional writing and editing skills and experience planning, designing, writing and producing materials for the public, including developing web site and social media content in English and French
The ability to coordinate media relations, manage media releases and develop informational materials for the media
The ability to develop informational material and collaborate on outreach initiatives
Experience working with community-based organizations
Political acuity and awareness of human rights issues in broader societal contexts
A commitment to applying the principles of cultural competence, including recognition of the need to deliver services to the public in a manner that recognizes the unique needs of diverse communities
The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, both internally and with external stakeholders; good interpersonal skills
Excellent computer skills

Full Job Description:

This is a full-time, permanent positon reporting to HRLSC’s Executive Director and Chief Administrative Officer. This position is part of the OPSEU bargaining unit and is located in Toronto. The salary is $74,531+, depending on qualifications. The usual hours of work are 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
