Position Summary
If you are a Practical Nurse who strives to make a difference in people’s lives by caring for them with compassion, dignity and respect, Interior Health has a great opportunity for a Community Care Licensed Practical Nurse in Merritt, B.C.

This is an exciting opportunity for LPN’s to become members of the Community Care team in Merritt. These newly funded casual positions will work in the Adult Day Program, Assisted Living and alongside the home health nurses doing wound care, palliative care and long term care reassessments. Casual opportunities are also available for the successful applicants to work in our Chase community care team.

The Community Care Licensed Practical Nurse, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, performs assessments, plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to clients. Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures.

This is a Casual opportunity and shift times are 08:00-16:00. Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements may vary from 0 – 37.5 hours per week. Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part-time or full time positions. Qualifications
• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses and one (1) year of recent, related community, acute care or long-term care experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) required.
• Current valid BC Driver’s License
