We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who exemplifies the professional values of the BC Public Service to join our team as a Bilingual (French) Court Clerk.

In the role of a Bilingual Court Clerk, you will provide effective and efficient administrative support to all levels of the Supreme and Provincial Court by performing pre-court, in-court, and post-court duties; interpreting documentation in court files to ensure accurate information in processing documents in both official languages as required.  You will be responsible for preparing and checking legal documents for accuracy and completeness; recording Court proceedings; maintain custody of exhibits and related documentation; interacting and liaising with the Judiciary, members of the legal profession, justice system partners and the public, in addition to performing a variety of related registry duties.

Responsibilities include performing pre-court, in-court, and post-court duties, interpreting documentation in court files to ensure accurate information in processing documents and concluding files. You will be responsible for preparing and checking legal documents for accuracy and completeness; recording Court proceedings; maintain custody of exhibits and related documentation; interacting and liaising with the Judiciary, members of the legal profession, justice system partners and the public

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED)
  • Must be fluent in speaking, writing and reading French and English.
  • Two (2) years recent office experience, or
  • One (1) year recent office experience and a minimum of one (1) year education/training in a legal related field
  • Minimum one (1) year experience/training in keyboarding, data entry, word processing and standard computer applications
  • Prefer experience with Court Clerk Desktop (CCD), JUSTIN and/or CEIS
  • Prefer experience delivering customer service
  • Prefer one (1) year experience/training in a court registry
