This position performs duties in Vanderhoof and Fort St. James on alternating weeks, and during special sittings.

Court Services Branch is responsible for the delivery of all court administration services in BC. These consist of registry, trial support and Sheriff Services for all levels of court. The Registry provides the infrastructure to process documents that are required by the court to ensure timely and effective processing of court cases and support to the justice system.
The purpose of this position is to provide court clerk duties and counter service (with limited signing authorities) for an integrated Court Registry.
This position reports to the Supervisor / Registry Technician / Justice of the Peace. The position is responsible for interpreting documentation in court files to ensure accurate information in processing documents and processing court files. The position interacts with members of the public, the bar, and the judiciary.
Fort St. James is a beautiful community that sits next to Stuart Lake, with water-skiing and fresh-water fishing excursions available. Snowboarding and downhill skiing are popular, as well as cross-country skiing just north of town at Murray Ridge. Fort. St. James is surrounded by various First Nation communities, and festivals are a common occurrence.
Vanderhoof is home to the Kenney Dam and sits on the Nechako River, in the flat spot between the BC coastline and the Rocky Mountain Range. Vanderhoof hosts events all year long, including tournaments for hockey and golf.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Secondary School diploma graduation or equivalent.
- One year experience working in an office environment legal office environment or court registry.
- One year clerical experience, education and/or training.
- Experience/training in keyboarding, data entry, word processing and other standard computer applications.
Preference may be given to the following:
- Experience with JUSTIN and/or CEIS.
- Experience delivering customer service.
- Maintain a valid Driver’s License
- Travel to remote communities as part of the Circuit/Satellite Court team
