About the Organization

Heiltsuk Kaxla Society (HKS) is a non-profit, Aboriginal child and family services agency located on the BC central coast. HKS serves the Heiltsuk people by delivering child and family services. With a mission to work with and support children, families and other agencies, HKS is mandated to ensure that children are safe, uplifted and respected while being grounded in their culture with a strong sense of belonging.

About the Opportunity

Are you enthusiastic about embracing new initiatives and challenges? Heiltsuk Kaxla Society has an excellent opportunity to lead, promote and enhance the services and programs of the organization.

Specifically, you will implement and administer the current program offerings, as well as expand the organization to include guardianship services under a newly designated agency.

Although equivalencies will be considered, ideally, you have a Bachelor’s degree (preferably a BSW although not required), 2 years of child welfare experience with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior administration and/or supervisory role.  The senior administration experience is essential.

This role is well suited to an organized individual who has the ability to work under pressure and meet competing deadlines. Outstanding problem solving and communication skills are essential, as is the capacity to manage and develop the HKS organization.
