Express Scripts Canada seeks to hire a Pharmacy Financial Analyst who will be responsible for the budgeting, forecasting and analyzing of data to support the Pharmacy forecasting and budgeting process. Overall responsibilities include financial reporting, KPI reporting, preparation of financial data for Management review, reporting Pharmacy P&L and detailed financial analysis. This role will work closely with the Finance department acting as a liaison between the Pharmacy and Finance.
Develop and maintain financial forecasting / budgeting models for Pharmacy P&L, including detailed planning for revenue streams, expenses and headcount
Detailed Analysis of gross margin across different products and regions
Identification of key business drivers, dependencies and provide recommendations for improvements
Support the financial and planning processes for all pharmacies (i.e. Budget, Strategic multi-year plans, and periodic forecasts)
Analyze and maintain monthly financial reports of pharmacies, and clearly communicate variances (actual as compared to the Strategic Plan, budget and forecasts
Perform analyses on key revenue and cost drivers (i.e. volume, FTE, inventory, therapies, etc.) for each pharmacy and/or regional performance
Works closely with Finance team to achieve strategic initiatives
Collaborates closely with Pharmacy managers and subject matter experts to proactively identify & resolve issues, identify opportunities and execute improvements
Experience in financial forecasting in retail pharmacy is preferred
May have an Accounting designation (CPA,CMA/CPA, CGA) or actively pursuing one
Experience working with various levels of an organization and various functional areas (with a focus on Pharmacy)
Solid technical and analytical skills with high degree of accuracy and tenacity, including a strong working knowledge of excel and power point
Possess’ strong organizational and time-management skills
Takes ownership, is able to meet tight deadlines, is flexible to accept diverse responsibilities, and work with minimal supervision
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, a team player committed to achieving common departmental / organizational objectives
Experience in Agile methodologies (i.e. Scrum, Kanban) is preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft AX 2012 financial system would be an asset
Functional knowledge of BI Reporting tools would be an asset
Knowledge of healthcare industry is preferred

Pharmacy Operations is responsible for ensuring the efficient operations of the Express Scripts Canada pharmacies. This department is responsible for establishing and maintaining corporate standards of quality, productivity and performance in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements. Further, this department is responsible for overseeing the production levels and service standards associated with pharmacy operations.
The finance department assumes responsibility for managing and reporting the organization’s finances. It is committed to continuous improvements in the way it organizes the financial and accounting affairs, including the preparation and presentation of appropriate accounts, and the dissemination of financial information to executives.
