Magnolia Floral and Garden Design (business mailing address: 20 Nantucket Drive, Richmond Hill, ON, L4E 3V1) is seeking a Floral Arrangements Designer (NOC 5244) for our Richmond Hill, ON location.


Working conditions:


  • Wage: $16.25 -18.00/hour (dependant on experience)
  • Full-time, permanent employment
  • Employment location: Richmond Hill, ON
  • 35-40 hours per week

Your main duties as a Floral Arrangements Designer (NOC 5244) include but are not limited to:

  • Design and arrange various floral and plant arrangements such as bouquets, corsages, wreaths, floral displays, and floral/plant indoor and outdoor décor;
  • Use your sense of artistry and knowledge of different types of flowers and their properties to determine the type of arrangement desired and choose flowers and greenery for each arrangement;
  • Visualize the final floral arrangement and independently determine which flowers, foliage and decorative accessories to use to produce it;
  • Design floral displays evoking desired sentiment or style for special occasions such as weddings, funerals, baby showers, anniversaries, and other large-scale events;
  • Work with numerous combinations to synthesize and create new and exciting creations;
  • Create visually appealing flower/plant garden design according to client’s’ requirements and needs;
  • Sketch your design plans on paper and work with 3D modeling programs such as SketchUp;
  • Give customers instructions on how to care for flowers and provide flower food to the customer;
  • Confer with clients regarding price and type of arrangement desired and the details of delivery.




  • Must have completed college diploma in closely related field or minimum of 2 years experience as a Floral Designer or Floral Arranger;
  • Must have excellent artistic/creative ability, decent sense of artistry, and knowledge of different types of flowers that must be demonstrated by a portfolio of previous work and a creative skills exam on site;
  • Must have knowledge of the color varieties of each flower and the properties of each flowers;
  • Must be detail-oriented;
  • Must be able to work under minimum supervision and have good organization skill;
  • Must have valid driving license and clean record;
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English;
