An excellent opportunity to apply your financial expertise in a service oriented work environmentThe Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training provides leadership and direction for post-secondary education and skills training systems in British Columbia as well as the dissemination of labour market information and the delivery of labour market programs. The Ministry plays a key role in helping British Columbians from every background and region to have the opportunity to reach their full potential. The Ministry administers a suite of student financial assistance programs that help eligible students offset the costs of their post-secondary education, as well as labour market development programs to ensure British Columbians have the skills needed to take advantage of job opportunities. The Ministry also has an oversight role for the following Crown corporations: British Columbia Council for International Education, and the Industry Training Authority.
Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, the positions works closely with Branch and Ministry staff to ensure timely and accurate budget and forecast reporting. The position also provides financial analysis services to multiple programs, projects and/or business lines.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Degree in business administration, commerce, public administration, accounting or financial management; OR
- Completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, or CMA); OR
- Enrolled or fully eligible for enrollment in the CPA Professional Education Program; OR
- Diploma or a minimum of a completion of the first two years of a degree in business administration, commerce, public administration, accounting or financial management; OR
- Minimum of Level 2 of the BC Public Service Financial Management Certificate Program.
- Experience in conducting financial forecasts and analysis and in supporting budget evaluation processes for multiple business areas.
- Experience analyzing financial and accounting statements and recommending reallocations.
- Experience developing financial statements and reports.
Preference may be given for:
- Experience in accounting for Work in Progress and Capital Assets.
