The Office of the Comptroller General (OCG) is presently accepting applications for the permanent appointment of the Supervisor, Chart of Accounts working in the Financial Reporting and Advisory Services Branch.
You will be responsible for the accounting administration of the Corporate Financial System; ensuring the integrity of the government’s Chart of Accounts; producing monthly and year-end revenue and expenditure reports, including Public Accounts schedules and statements; ensuring the budget and reorganisation data entered in the government general ledger is in accordance with legal restrictions. This includes ensuring data in the Corporate Financial System is timely and accurate; setting financial accounting practices across government for treatment of revenues and expenses; recommending accounting policy and procedures; and providing instructions and training to financial staff within ministries across government to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.
Your decisions and recommendations impact the accounting systems, chart of accounts, reporting, procedures, ministries and budget. You must have the ability to co-ordinate a variety of dissimilar accounting systems and operational practices to achieve greater integration, efficiency and consistency of outputs across government. You must be a team player with exceptional inter-personal and teambuilding skills.
There are two Senior Financial Analysts on your team that will report directly to you. You will have demonstrated success and experience in leading a team, developing staff and managing a team workload.
You have completed third level of formal training within the past three years leading to professional certification as a Chartered Professional Accountant (C.P.A.) and at least three years of financial and accounting related duties with emphasis on financial reporting and chart of accounts. You also demonstrate proficiency using software applications including Oracle, Word and Excel. Excellent time management, analytical, problem solving, and communication skills are all desired attributes, as is a working knowledge of a budget cycle process.

Job Requirements: In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
Completion of third level of formal training within the past three years leading to professional certification as a Chartered Professional Accountant (C.P.A.) with three (3) years of financial reporting experience.
Extensive, progressively more responsible professional accounting experience analyzing and preparing complex financial statements
Experience developing, recording and reporting techniques and applications
Experience optimizing the reporting usage of large corporate accounting systems
Experience providing direction and advice to clientele on a variety of financial and accounting management issues
Three (3) years of experience supervising professional staff and training financial personnel.
