– Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required;
– Completion of secondary (high) school is required;
– 2 years to less than 3 years of related work experience including supervisory position is required;
– Work experience in Japanese restaurants and/or having knowledge of Japanese dishes/drinks are assets

Job duties

– Supervise, co-ordinate and evaluate activities of floor staff;
– Prepare food order summaries for kitchen staff;
– Establish work schedules and schedule floor staff;
– Plan and improve activities and methods to meet work schedules;
– Co-ordinate, assign and review work;
– Address customers’ complaints or concerns, and solve problems when needed;
– Ensure food service and quality control, and direct floor staff for improvements when needed;
– Clean work area and eating area;
– Inspect work area and eating area for safety and/or health hazards;
– Control and manage inventory and orders of supplies and beverages;
– Manage the restaurant’s POS system, cashier and gratuities;
– Prepare, create and submit sales report and budget/cost estimates to the management;
– Train newly hired floor staff in job duties, sanitation, safety procedures, and the restaurant’s service manners/concept.
– Manage day-to-day restaurant operations when needed;
– May plan and implement restaurant marketing activities and promotions, visit business customers (hotels, neighbour companies, etc) and establish/build business relationship with them;
– Participate seminars such as restaurant management seminar and beverage seminars as a restaurant representative
