Under the supervision of the Deputy Regional Accounting Manager, the Accounting Clerk/Assistant prepares various registers for the timely payment of suppliers’ invoices, payroll remittances, and other disbursements including assisting with the processing of CANEX Central Billing invoices. She/He prepares accounting entries, reports and organizes administrative tasks relating to the Military Families Fund (MFF). Administer phone call and inquires on the MFF 1-877 phone line. The Accounting Clerk/Assistant prints cheques ensuring proper control of cheque numbers with cheque signing machine. He/ She compiles Personnel Support Program (PSP) invoice for recoverable pay and expenses from the Receiver General by data entry of verified base wages into an Excel activity worksheet for each pay period and compiles a separate Monthly Invoice for operating expenses.
College diploma or certificate in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, AND some years of experience in accounting, or in a related field
High school diploma AND several years of experience in accounting
Language requirement: English Essential
• In accounting
• In Automated Based Accounting Control & Information System (PROPHET) software, an asset
• In data entry, data manipulation, record-keeping and retrieval techniques
• In drafting correspondence and reports
• In office administration
• In providing customer service
• In maintaining electronic and manual filing systems
• Accessible facilities on base (i.e. Fitness facility, Swimming pool, etc)
Salary: $22.46/hr – $25.10/hr
