Work Location: Same as aboveand multiple locations in western Canada when attending horse shows

Business Information:Grain (wheat, canola and oats) and hay farming, boarding, raising, training and selling horses

Job Description:

  • Plant , fertilize and spray crops
  • Harvest crops
  • Feed and tend animals inside and out
  • Monitoring animal health (especially be able to notice colic in horses)
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • Clean stables
  • Stone and/or wood picking
  • Harvest hay
  • Operating tillage, baling, seeding, harvesting equipment
  • Harrow fields, arena, outdoor arena
  • General farm clean up
  • Farm maintenance
  • Repairing and maintaining fencing
  • Maintaining landscaping
  • Boarding, care, handling of horses
  • Turning horses out to pasture and returning them to stalls
  • Grooming show horses
  • Groom horses, tack horses
  • Blanket and put boots on horses

Requirements:

-Education: Not required

-Experience is an asset

-Overtime may be required

-Fast-paced environment

-Repetitive tasks

-Handling heavy loads

-Physically demanding

-Attention to detail

-Walking, bending, crouching, kneeling

Salary:$20.00 to 22.00 Hourly, 40 Hours per week

Important Information:Work schedule: From 7:00AM to 4:00PM. 5 days per week and 2 days off.  Position requires flexibility on schedule as it is extended for the seeding and harvesting period.
