Vacancies: 10 Vacancies

Salary: $14.00 – $16.00 / Hour for 40 Hours / Week

Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time

Start date: As soon as possible

Employment conditions: Morning, day, evening, weekend, night.

Languages: English

Education: Some High School

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Personal Suitability: Reliability, team player, effective interpersonal skills, client focus, dependability.

Hairstylist Specific Skills: Apply hair extensions; Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair; Suggest hair style compatible with client’s physical features or determine style from client’s instructions and preferences; Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair; Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair.

Hair Styling Techniques: Blow drying, iron waving/curling, permanents, roller setting.

Hair Colouring Techniques: Bleach, dyes/tints, frosting, streaking/highlights.

Additional Skills: Book appointments; Shampoo customers’ hair; Perform receptionist duties; Maintain and order supplies.

Work Setting: Hairstyling salon

Work Location Information: Urban area

Work Site Environment: Noisy, odours

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment; Repetitive tasks; Attention to detail; Standing for extended periods; Risks of slip and fall injuries; Use of electrical tools; Use of sharp objects; Use of chemical products.
