Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte (MBQ) is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is ready to get involved in multiple areas of HR with a focus on talent acquisition, retention and management, including health & safety, and HR Administration.
As a Human Resources Advisor, you will:
be responsible for the successful management of personnel practices and policies for assigned client groups within MBQ;
manage organizational plans for designated client groups: maintain/update department organigram, job documentation and evaluation;
source and recruit staff for assigned programs/units;
engage employees by providing a regular presence at assigned programs/units;
be directly involved in talent management activities: employee relations, performance management, & salary administration
ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements as defined under the Canada Labour Code (CLC), and conduct workplace inspections, incident investigations, and administer the return to work program;
create and maintain files for recordkeeping and reporting purposes in accordance with applicable regulations and MBQ procedures.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Strong understanding of Human Resources, policies and procedures, employment legislation (work experience within federally regulated organizations is ideal), as well as compensation & benefits, and Health & Safety.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Strong skills in communicating, analytical thinking, planning, and organizing
Strong teamwork and partnership orientation
Computer skill requirements include: Intermediate MS Word, Outlook and MS Excel
Sense of urgency, outstanding communication and problem solving
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field from four-year college or university
5 to 8 years of experience in human resources or related field
Must be able to provide a satisfactory criminal record check
Valid G license with clean driver’s abstract
