Reporting to the Vehicles & Equipment Training Specialist
Participate in training relating to the delivery of Forestry, Stations, Lines, Vehicles, Equipment, Driver, Safety programs.
Plan, organize, develop, and deliver training to full time/temporary staff .
Review and/or prepare deliverable materials associated with all aspects of training for employees in all Lines of Business ( LoB ).
Assist in the delivery and coordination of all technical/safety/equipment training programs.
Training will be delivered strategically throughout the Province, with an emphasis on local travel.
Ensure information is consistent amongst instructors.
Ensure course content is current via subject matter experts ( SME )
Receive assignment and outline of requirements from Supervisor. Perform necessary field and office research. Maintain an awareness of the continuing development in training.
Perform other duties as required.
Requires a knowledge of most aspects of Lines, Forestry, Stations work and the operation of all equipment associated with these LoB Trades.
Excellent oral and written communication abilities necessary.
Computer Skills – Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, HODS is essential and be able to demonstrate. Knowledge of LMS(HOLMS) would be beneficial.
Analytical and problem solving skills are an absolute must.
Requires possession of a classified driver’s licence with emphasis on an AZ with at least 5 years experience.
Essential Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:
Requires familiarity with organization and operation of Hydro One in order to serve client needs.
Must be familiar with Hydro One rules and Lines, Forestry, Stations standards / procedures as they apply to the power system and Lines, Forestry, Stations transport/work equipment.
Experience with presentation and instruction to both small and large groups.
Experience in the delivery of training programs including Safety meeting presentations.
Be familiar with associated legislation, Highway traffic Act, OHSA ,Book 7, LoB, Networks HSE Management System and applicable H1 Policies and procedures.
Requires performing duties such as driving long distances, operating types of work equipment, standing and/or walking for varying periods of time while instructing or making presentations.
Must be able to work on your own and have excellent organization abilities and be able to demonstrate
Provide instruction in appropriate levels of: mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, Transport and Work Equipment operation.
Requires knowledge of English and oral and written communication skills to prepare and present lessons, examinations, teaching aids and comprehensive reports.
Required knowledge/skill normally obtained through completion of a diploma program in Heavy Equipment from a recognized College or through 6 to 8 years experience in a Lines, Forestry, Stations or Mechanic Trade.
Requires extensive travel and time away from home at TWHQ’s to deliver training to both Internal/External Clients.
