We are looking for a dynamic team player to join our team to program, and create card access cards and records as well as monitoring and processing security clearance checks for contractors for courthouses. Sheriffs are responsible for the overall security of courthouses in BC, and as such are responsible for all key and access security at courthouses.
The Security Systems Administrator reports to the Sheriff Services Director, Provincial Programs and provides support and coordinates the delivery of security service within the Sheriff Services Division. This position is a key contact between the staff, service provider/technician and service delivery personnel. The position defines, implements, monitors and maintains effective security of data, including applications which contain sensitive personal information. The role includes the provision of 2nd level technical support to all courthouse locations centrally managed for access and security issues. Individuals that have good organizational skills, problem solvers and who have a good knowledge of word, outlook, and excel are encouraged to apply.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Diploma in Computer Science or a related field and relevant experience OR;
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience/training in keyboarding, data entry, word processing and standard computer applications.
- Experience in developing and maintaining Excel spreadsheets.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- at least 1-year experience in card access programming.
- experience in applying and interpreting information technology security and administrative policies and procedures and developing client specific guidelines and best practices.
