The Information, Innovation and Technology Division leads the modernization and transformation of business practices for the natural resource ministries through continuous improvement projects, new technology options and IMIT operations. IMIT Investment Portfolio and Governance provides leadership, direction and oversight to IMIT project portfolios in support of natural resource sector clients’ innovation, growth, productivity and maintenance priorities. The IMIT Project Portfolio unit provides leadership to the execution of approved projects within multiple project portfolios to ensure outcomes are achieved within timelines and financial parameters and meet organizational requirements.
The IMIT Project Portfolio Analyst provides a host of project portfolio monitoring, evaluation and reporting services. This involves conducting research and analytical projects and developing recommendations to improve project portfolio outcomes. It also involves monitoring the performance of projects within assigned project portfolios and evaluating their compliance with quality, integrity and other performance parameters. The Analyst works in close collaboration with other portfolio analysts, project managers, other IMIT professionals and business clients to advance project portfolio outcomes.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- A degree in computer science or a related discipline and a minimum of 1 year of recent (within the last 3 years) of related experience* OR
- A diploma in computer science or a related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of recent (within the last 5 years) of related experience* OR
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of recent (within the last 7 years) related experience.
*Recent, related experience may include any of the following:
- Coordinating or contributing to the monitoring, evaluation and/or reporting of IMIT project portfolios, projects or project components.
- Using enterprise relational database systems and tool sets (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL Server).
- Conducting research and analytical projects, performing quantitative analysis (e.g. cost benefit analysis), evaluating options and/or preparing recommendations
Preference may be given to candidates with experience in any of the following:
- ITIL or project management certification or training.
- Monitoring financial expenditures and/or contributing to the preparation of forecasts.
- Preparing and/or delivering IS or portfolio management related training
